Principal investigator
Prasenjit Khanikar
Prasenjit Khanikar is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at IIT Guwahati. He works in the fields of 3D-printed mechanical metamaterials, high entropy alloys, and the high strain rate behavior of materials. His research interests also include the metallurgy of metal 3D printing. Before joining IIT Guwahati, he worked as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at Columbia University, New York City. He received his PhD in Mechanical Engineering in 2013 from North Carolina State University, Raleigh. He received his MTech in 2008 from the Department of Applied Mechanics, IIT Delhi. He received BE in Mechanical Engineering from Jorhat Engineering College situated in Assam, which had been the easternmost engineering college of the country for five decades.
